Mr. Poe is a very 'important' Banker who always falls for Count Olaf's disguises. He was of friend of the Baudelaires parents before they "died" in the fire. He first appears in the first book to tell the Baudelaires about the fire that destroyed their home. He apparently died in the hotel fire in the twelfth book.
